A recent investigative report published in the Desert Sun newspaper is showing that Nestlé, one of the largest food businesses in the world, has been illegally pumping water from a Southern California national forest for 27 years. The company's permit expired in 1988, yet it continues to extract water from the drought-stricken area, placing profits over environment again and again.

What You Can Do

California's water crisis is by no means an insignificant matter; it's devastating wildlife and contributing to lower crop yields. Nestlé, however, continues to derive water from one of California's national forests, selling their final product for over thousands times the price. If you've been following me for awhile, you probably know how I feel about bottled water. For some reason, the U.S. Forest Service turns a blind eye, and it's up to us to push for a change. You have the opportunity to tell the U.S. Forest Service stop Nestlé's illegal water extraction by signing this petition. When you click the hyperlink, you will be taken to a petition that will allow you to add your voice and concerns over this matter.
